Tribute to Basin Volunteer Ambulance Service volunteers

A look at the past to the present with Basin Volunteer Ambulance Service and the individuals that made this possible. A list to pay tribute and many thanks for their service

List of volunteers who donated their time and were a major part of the original establishment of Basin Volunteer Ambulance Service later to become the special district (October 1, 1998) known as Basin Ambulance Service District. Dba: Basin Volunteer Ambulance Service. I'm sure I have probably missed individuals but what can I say, I'm getting older.
Earlier than 1970 to approximately 1980: Harve Bateman, Ben Casad, Curtis Newkirk, Ken Parsons, John Crowell, Dan Orr, Randy DuVal, Walter Hi, Cathy Moore, John Anderson, Jeanne Anderson, Judy Huffman, Les Embertson, Linda Schamel, Bert Henderson, Greg Meshke and others. Several of these individuals served for many years earlier and with a total of 12 hours of Red Cross First Aid and CPR. I joined the ambulance service in 1970 with the total training of First Aid and CPR, most ambulance calls were labeled “scoop and run”.
Early 1980's and to present day volunteers: Some have come, some have gone and some are still here.

Tulelake: After the Tulelake ambulance was moved to Hatfield and it became available for individuals other than Tulelake EMT's to join the service Curtis Newkirk, Dan Orr, Randy DuVal, John Anderson, Jeanne Anderson, Judy Huffman, Marietta Campbell, Harry Hansen, Tom Ongman, Larita Ongman, Bert Henderson, and others.

Approximately 1980 - 1983 until the formation of Basin Ambulance Service District October 1, 1998: When the California volunteers affiliated with Malin Rural Fire Protection District:
