Our Klamath Basin Water Crisis
Fighting for Our Right to Irrigate Our Farms and Caretake Our Natural Resources

Good news, 4/7/03 by Dan Keppen, Klamath Water Users Executive Director

Judge Wanger in Fresno ruled last week on a few very important Trinity
River issues:

1. He said Reclamation can have until July of 2004 to complete the
supplemental Environmental Impact Statement impacts of less diversions to the fish on the
Sacramento River and Delta.

2.  He said Reclamation could release up to 50,000AF down the Trinity if needed
to avoid  fish mortality similar to last year's die-off in September, which is 50,000 above the 453,000AF annual flow currently in place.

3.  He turned down the tribes request for full above average flows down
     the Trinity of 671,000AF.

We'll provide more information on this as it becomes available.
