UPDATE: Natural Resources Committee to Hold Hearing on Roadblocks to Solar and Wind Production on Public Lands

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Committee on Natural Resources oversight hearing on the “American Energy Initiative: Identifying Roadblocks to Wind and Solar Energy on Public Lands and Waters” scheduled to meet on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 1324 Longworth House Office Building is rescheduled due to anticipated House Floor activity on Committee-reported legislation. 

 

“House Republicans’ American Energy Initiative is an effort to increase all types of American energy production – including renewable energysaid Chairman Doc Hastings.  “Wind and solar energy is an integral part of an all-of-the-above energy approach, but unfortunately production on public lands often faces significant obstacles.  This hearing will examine policies and actions, such as permitting delays, that have blocked or hindered development of renewable energy sources on our federal lands and waters

 

The hearing is now divided into two parts and rescheduled for the following days:
