Charge !

The Klamath Basin Cavalry Rides ........
No sabers drawn, no rifles firing, but could it be the last stand?
With no one to attack at the destination of this mounted charge, these brave cavalryfolks, showed their mettle by attacking those not in attendance,  those that would take from them their way of life. Flags were unfurled as 148 riders stormed to the gates after about a three mile ride. They rode to support the peaceful "infantry", dug in now for over a  week at the Headgates of the Klamath Project, but mostly to say: "We Want Our Water Back"

This is not their last stand, they will ride again,
and fight the evil that strikes at their very being.

3:10 P.M July 20th
The cavalry arrived … not a dry eye here.  Absolutely spectacular .. 148 horses and riders cleared the ridge … most carrying US flags. The National Anthem played as the descended the hill … followed by an invocation … and of course … Lee Greenwood. To top it off, an F15 Eagle made a low pass. A crowd on this side … estimated at nearly 400 was simply awe struck. Truthfully, you couldn’t be an American, and remain dry eyed. God Bless America …

Ranchers, horse owners and equestrians, from all over the basin stage their own protest over loss of water, and show support for Camp Headgate.

this page now has four photos, please let them load

Mount up, we have something to say, unfurl the flags

Coming over the hill, to the Headgates, July 20th, 3:10 P.M.

Earlier:
Over 60 horse and stock trailers carrying anywhere between 2 to 6 horses and riders are assembled in downtown Klamath Falls.   At 1:00 they will begin their ride (some would say assault) upon the headgates. Dressed in red, white and blue, the makeshift cavalry company of over 150 is expected to arrive behind the headgates, directly opposite the makeshift city that has been erected. The picture was taken at the assembly area …  ( middle photo )

earlier yet,  the Call to Ride:
51 Riders, 51 Flags Needed,  All Riders Welcome
Leave from Veterans Park at 1:00 P.M. and ride to the Headgates,
We are staging this peaceful march to the headgates in time for the representative from the Department of Interior to see our support!
