(Klamath) Irrigation district election Nov. 12

letter to Herald and News by Ken and Maudie Smith 11/5/13

If you pay water assessments to the Klamath Irrigation District (KID), you are eligible to vote.

However, only those who have registered at the Klamath Irrigation District office with proof of ownership are allowed to exercise that right.

Please call the KID office to make sure you can vote. The number is 541-882-6661.

The incumbents have been in control of the water board for too many years. We need to replace them. They voted for the dam removal and government takings of our water rights, against the will of the majority of the irrigators. This has caused a huge division of our community.

Randy Hirschbock, from Zone 1 and David Victorine, from Zone 5 have been nominated to run against the incumbents. If elected, they will do their best to keep our water assessments from increasing, and they will represent all of the water users. Please help us elect them on Nov. 12. Election hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the KID office, 6440 KID Lane, off Short Road.
