Too much opinion

The Endangered Species Act currently requires that decisions be based on "best available science."

Too often, best available science represents the only available science. It regularly embodies little more than unverified, and unverifiable, opinion.

Decisions that materially affect lives and communities must be supported by empirical data that represents verifiable, reproducible, peer-reviewed science.

The Endangered Species Act must be improved to require that decisions be based upon peer reviewed science. We can accept no less if our natural resources based rural communities and towns are to survive.
