MORE HERE

I said that I would be following with an Action Alert and asking for your help. The small-scale gold mining industry is facing several serious challenges at the moment which require some immediate action. The first issue we need to deal with is, the State of California is reexamining its long-standing position that suction dredging does not create any meaningful negative impact upon water quality. They are presently asking for comments from the public on this matter. Emailed comments will be accepted until 12 PM on 22 June. This allows us 2 weeks from today to get our comments in.

To make it easier for you to submit comments, we have created a web page that has compiled the conclusions from multiple published studies which determined that there was no significant degradation of water quality from suction dredging. Everything you need to know to help us with this can be found at the following link:

And HERE for more information on AB1032 and lists of reps.

Please help us by sending in your comments!

This is to warn you that I will follow in about a week with another Action Alert to help us try and kill a bill in the legislature that is designed to curtail suction dredging within California.

We will just take these issues on one at a time. With your support, I believe we can remain on top of these important issues facing our industry.
