Crop Disaster Program deadline nearing

Deadline for applications for the 2001 Crop Disaster Program is Jan. 31. Growers are eligible to apply for a prevented planting payment if they were unable to plant a crop in 2001 because of an eligible cause or loss. Growers who experienced a 35 percent loss in quantity or a 20 percent loss in quality may be eligible for payment.

This program is separate from any other previously made for 2001 losses including crop insurance and Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program payments. If crop losses were previously paid under NAP, the county FSA office will have that information on file. For other losses bring in production evidence for 2001 and insurance paperwork.
